Key Points
- Integrated architecture with supervision, process control, and functional safety on the same network.
- Redundancy of CP A and CP B controllers managed by the PX2612 module for high availability.
- Robust industrial communication via redundant PROFIBUS A/B for remote process IOs.
- Dedicated functional safety with Nexto Safety and PROFIsafe V2 communication for Safety Remotes.
- PROFINET integration for MCC panels with inverters connected to the network.
Solution Description
This architecture features an automation system with integrated supervision, process control, and functional safety layers on the same network. The supervisory system communicates via Ethernet TCP/IP with an industrial switch ET5-0802-MX2, which concentrates the traffic between the controllers and other devices. In the process control part, there are two main controllers, CP A and CP B, in redundancy, managed by the PX2612 module. These controllers are connected to the remote IO REMOTA 1 and REMOTA 2 through redundant PROFIBUS A and B buses, responsible for signal acquisition and actuator operation in the field.
In parallel, the solution incorporates a Nexto Safety controller, dedicated to safety functions, which communicates with SAFETY REMOTES 1 and 2 via PROFIsafe V2. There is also a PROFINET controller connected to the same switch, allowing the integration of MCC panels that have inverters communicating via PROFINET.
