The purpose of this tutorial is to explain the firmware update procedure for a GL-9089 network adapter.
Components
Equipment: 1 MODBUS TCP / Ethernet IP Network Adapter/Head module (GL-9089), 1 power supply (for the module), 1 network cable, 1 computer/laptop.

1. ARCHITECTURE
You will need to use a computer/laptop to communicate with the network adapter module via a standard network cable.

2. PROCEDURE
Adjust the computer’s network settings to connect to the device:
- Adjust the computer’s network settings to connect to the device:
- IP Address: 192.168.0.X (X should be between 2 and 253, except 100);
- Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
- Set the DIP Switches as shown below:

- Power on the device;
- The MOD LED should be blinking alternately between Green and Red, indicating the equipment is in IAP mode;
- Connect a LAN cable between the device and the computer;
- Open a browser (Edge, Chrome, ...) and enter the address 192.168.0.100, which is the default address for G Series modules;

- Enter user ID and password:
- User ID: altus
- Password: altus

- Click choose file, upload the desired “.bin” file, and click Update Firmware;

- Return the DIP Switches to the operating position and restart the device.
SUCCESS! After this, the device firmware update is complete!
