The Input Assistant is a feature of MasterTool IEC XE that assists the programmer during logic writing. As the user begins typing, the software automatically searches the entire project, listing variables, blocks, and functions that correspond to the typed letters.
This feature facilitates the indexing and reuse of variables, reduces typing errors, and speeds up logic development, especially in larger projects.
How to enable the Input Assistant
- Access the Tools menu.
- Click Options.
- Select Smart Coding.
- Enable the options:
- List components after typing a period (.)
- List components immediately upon typing
- Click OK to save the settings.

After this configuration, whenever the user starts typing in the logic, MasterTool IEC XE will automatically display a list of suggestions, allowing them to quickly select the desired element.
