2. DEVELOPMENT
In more complex applications, it is common to use a seal logic with multiple parallel contacts, allowing different conditions to keep the same output activated. MasterTool IEC XE offers features that facilitate both the insertion of parallel contacts in relation to various objects and the reorganization of already created logic.
Inserting Multiple Parallel Contacts
To add a parallel contact in relation to more than one existing object in the logic, follow the procedure below:
- Select the first contact or block in the logic.
- While holding down the Ctrl key, click on the other contacts or blocks that will be part of the same parallel branch.
- After selecting all the desired objects:
- Click on the top menu and select Insert Parallel Contact Below
- Right-click on the selection and choose Insert Parallel Contact Below.
The inserted contact will be created in parallel to all selected objects, forming a multiple branch of the logic.

Moving Contacts and Blocks in the Logic
MasterTool IEC XE also allows you to reorganize the logic in a simple way, without the need to delete and recreate elements.
To move an existing contact or block:
- Click to select the desired contact or block.
- Drag the element to the new position in the logic.
- During the dragging process, the software will display visual indicators, showing the valid points where the item can be positioned.
When you release the element, it will automatically adjust to the new position, maintaining the integrity of the Ladder logic.
