The purpose of this tutorial is to explain how to insert and use the Easy Connection feature in a MasterTool X project.

- DEVELOPMENT
The Easy Connection is a tool in MasterTool IEC XE used for network scanning, allowing automatic identification of PLCs connected on the same network as the computer.
This feature facilitates the process of diagnosis, identification, and connection with devices, especially in environments where there are multiple devices.
Functionality
The Easy Connection performs a network search and displays all compatible devices found, showing important information such as:
- IP address
- Subnet mask
- Gateway
- MAC address
- Firmware version
- Device name
Network requirements
For the tool to work properly, it is necessary that:
- The computer with MasterTool is:
- Directly connected to the PLC, or
- Connected to a switch that links all devices
Accessing the tool
To use Easy Connection:
- Access the top menu
- Go to the Communication option
- Select Easy Connection
After that, the tool window will open.

Network scanning
Inside the tool:
- Click the update option to search/update devices
- The software will perform a network scan
- The PLCs found will be listed on the screen
Interacting with devices
After identifying the devices, the user can:
- Select a PLC from the list
- View its network information
- Check firmware version
- Confirm the device name
Network configuration
One of the main features of Easy Connection is the possibility of network configuration:
- Change the PLC's IP address
- Adjust the subnet mask
- Configure the gateway
This facilitates standardization and integration of devices on the network.
Important:
To change the IP, the CPU must be in STOP mode. Otherwise, the modification will not be allowed.
Connecting to the PLC
Besides viewing and configuring, it is also possible to:
- Connect directly to the selected PLC
- Use the device for login and program download
